Sound Records and Good On Paper presents the Shop Sessions....
Weekly vinyl sets featuring some of the best (and up and coming!) DJ's from across the Stroud District, Gloucestershire and further afield out of Sound Records - Stroud's independent record shop. The series continues with DJ Beat Boy B... "My name is Barney (DJ Beat Boy B.) and I’m 13 years old. I was born in Bristol, but I have lived in stroud for most of my life. My main influence for becoming a DJ is from my Dad (Mendoza) I listened to music for as long as I can remember, and I think that has given me a very good sense of rhythm. I love hip hop and mixing old and new styles. I got my first chance to DJ at Stroud Gloucester Vinyl Connections (SGVC) when I was 11 years old, and I took it and became their youngest member. In term of gigs, I did two at the Prince Albert for SGVC but then when Covid happened I switched to playing a SGVC gig on Twitch and then in early March I did thissession at Sound Records. My goals as a DJ are to make sets that people will enjoy and share the music I love and to also show that it doesn’t matter how old or young you are and that anyone can DJ if they try.
